In this project you will work with a partner to create a wiki that explains
Lewis Carroll's use of wordplay in the novel
Alice in Wonderland
.
Here's what you have to do:
1. Wordplay in the Book
Record examples of the following literary terms that appear in the book.
You should have 3-4 examples of each type.
Be sure to provide the excerpt in quotes and the page number from your book.
Here are the terms:
Diction
Syntax
Lexicon
Personification
Alliteration
Assonance
Repetition
Pun
2. Wordplay in Other Places
Find 3 examples of word play from sources other than Alice and Wonderland and place them on the wiki.
Cite the work.
Extra credit if you post a video or sound file as your example.
3. Hypertext essay (essay with links)
A short three-part essay should explain why you think authors use wordplay.
Support your argument by linking the examples you found into the essay.
This will make your essay a hypertext essay.
To make the wiki, create 4 new pages:
Page 1: A homepage that acts as an index. It should also provide the 8 literary devices with their definitions.
Page 2: The wordplay examples from
Alice in Wonderland
.
Page 3: The examples of wordplay found outside the book.
Page 4: The wordplay essay.
